"Ornament with construction" said Hendrik Petrus Berlage, or at least that is what comes from word of mouth.

This project was proposed for a well-known IT company located on the side of Gurugram. The proposal was required not only to act as a presentation letter for the company, but also to include the pre-existence of a production hall 200m wide by 80m deep.

​

To do this, it is proposed to work on two essential aspects of the same subject: reinforced concrete and the logics that shape it, both at a material level and in the confirmatory logic of the project.

​

The first of them consisted of working on a project strictly related to the route and speed. A specific envelope is designed capable of creating "a flash", "an effect of light and color of a few seconds" for those who circulate on the road at an average speed of 100 km / h. A surprising kinetic effect coming from a building that at first glance appears totally neutral and anchored like a rock.

The second aspect to work on has to do with the human scale and the maximum exploitation of the matter in which the company is presented as a leader, proposing in turn to create a challenge to its production processes. To do this, an enclosure piece is proposed whose specific geometry in whose complexity converge the enclosure needs, its bearing capacity, and the kinetic effect to be transferred to the façade either by day or by night.

Matter and effect thus come together in a project that also does not hide its interest in simple form, architectural design, and spatial sequences as part of a whole.
